RELEASES BREWMASTER
A JAVA DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT WITH INTEGRATED CODE MANAGEMENT
CHICAGO, IL. - October 3, 1997 - Objectsoft, Inc. today announces the availability
of BrewMaster SE, an integrated Java(TM) code management tool for application development.
BrewMaster offers powerful browsing tools, code search utilities, version control and
build management tools to help Java developers better manage the application development
process. BrewMaster is the first in a series of tools from Objectsoft that help the Java
developer build commercial-strength Java applications.
BrewMaster is a fully integrated Java development
environment with code management. Features include:
- Full import and parsing capabilities for Java source
code
- Integrated version control for methods, classes,
packages and projects
- Browsers for the management of projects, packages,
classes and methods
- Support for the concept of class partitions
- Code search utilities to locate method implementers and
senders, as well as class references. Build management tools to support complex
compilation
- Support for integration with third-party compilers,
debuggers and appletviewers
"A good development environment must support
flexible and powerful browsing and good code search utilities to allow developers the
ability to "see" and "understand" large and/or complex development
efforts," says Objectsoft president and CEO Kevin Clark. "As a foundation of
quality development, any significant software development must be integrated with version
control. BrewMaster provides excellent browsing capabilities and integrated version
control to provide the first truly scaleable Java development environment."
"The Java development community now can benefit
from the version control capabilities provided by BrewMaster to build large-scale
business-critical Java applications," said Reed Hornberger, director of software
development, Sun Microsystems, Inc. "Additionally, BrewMaster on Solaris will enable
developers to take advantage of the leading network computing platform to deliver the
scalability and high performance required by these large-scale applications."
BrewMaster is a tool offering a large-scale integrated solution for complex
object-oriented development for Java. BrewMaster excels in the support of any size project
or development effort. It is highly focused on software engineering concepts that improve
the quality of software development across teams of developers. In this release,
BrewMaster is being delivered on Windows NT/95 and Solaris platforms.
Clark adds, "Eighteen months ago we began to
investigate Java as a language for development. We discovered the lack of good tools that
encouraged the browsing and understanding of the Java class libraries. We also discovered
the lack of integrated version control with the existing Java development environments.
This was the basis for our creation of BrewMaster."
